ICR expanded into Asia in 2006. Since then, the ICR Asia team has assisted tens of high-profile Asia-based clients to get listed in the U.S. and Hong Kong through IPO as well as the SPAC. The firm provides strategic communications services to those clients continually in the aftermarket.

Role:

The ICR Asia team is seeking a native English speaker for an editor position in New York City. An editor will be expected to have strong English writing capabilities, analytical mindset, and client services acumen. With the guidance from senior members of the team, you should be able to write appropriate financial press releases and executive speeches, edit our Asian colleagues’ English writing, develop corporate PowerPoint presentations, and operate under tight time constraints often imposed by our clients.

Responsibilities of an editor include:

  • Copy edit and proofread press releases, executive scripts, and other client deliverables according to AP style, internal style sheets, and additional client requirements
  • Use Microsoft Word to track edits, make/review comments, and format documents using pre-approved styles
  • Conduct editorial research on best practices in the financial press and investor communications
  • Interact with senior company executives to prepare for quarterly earnings calls, including drafting earnings releases, management Q&A preparation, and investor feedback
  • Assist with the creation and preparation of key messages and supporting investor presentation materials for senior management
  • Track, compile and analyze our client’s competitor/peer business developments, market valuation, and financial results
  • Prepare reports and analysis for client outlining investor feedback, financial results, stock price performance, changes to institutional shareholder base
  • Provide direct support to senior team members on Asia team
  • Develop and manage relationships with current key analysts and institutional investors
  • Develop and manage timeline for investor conferences, non-deal roadshows and other major events
  • Strong interest in working with Asia-based companies and ability to navigate the business culture there

 Job Requirements:

  • Native language in English. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese a plus but not required
  • Passion for all forms of English writing. Ability to integrate creativity and imagination with logical persuasion and critical reasoning
  • Strong English writing skills with attention to details, including diction, grammar, and syntax
  • Must be very detail oriented and able to multi-task with efficiency
  • Confident and professional phone and e-mail communication
  • Ability to work independently and complete projects with limited supervision
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong interest in or understanding of the equity markets
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, basic knowledge in accounting and financial analysis, or prior experience in equity research, investment banking, or corporate finance is a plus but not required
