ICR, a leading corporate communications firm, is seeking a Senior Associate or Account Executive to join the ICR Lifestyle Lab and work closely with senior level managers to provide superior consumer media relations support for an exciting range of public and private clients in the Lifestyle, Heath & Wellness, Retail, Food & Beverage and Restaurant sectors. This experienced Senior Associate serves as a primary day-to-day client contact and is responsible for helping teams drive the tactical execution of plans and campaigns to exceed client expectations. The Senior Associate will also help develop and lead media relations initiatives and manage the development of press materials and deliverables. The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling and media relations and excels in a team environment where management and junior staff work hand in hand to achieve outstanding results.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a significant role in the research, planning and development of strategic and creative corporate communications programs
  • Maintain strong relationships with consumer, lifestyle and industry media
  • Drive media coverage on new product launches, events and other major media milestones, as well as identifying ways to secure results for clients absent of hard news announcements
  • Develop client content, including contributed articles, press releases, media pitches, and digital content
  • Proactive media relations to achieve quality placements
  • Maintain and enhance client relations
  • Understand the client’s overall business objectives and strategies in order to effectively promote specific campaigns
  • Manage media results reporting process
  • Assist with new business pitches and pitch prep
  • Lead multiple projects and interact with senior level clients
  • Solve problems, think creatively and strategically

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant agency or client side PR experience, showing proven editorial placements in consumer and business media
  • Excellent writing, verbal and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills; able to work quickly under pressure, handling and prioritizing multiple assignments
  • A working knowledge of social and media influence, emerging platforms and creative problem solving
  • Creative and energetic personality
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow up
  • Strong media relations experience, understanding the importance of developing relationships with key consumer and lifestyle media and regularly securing top-tier placements for clients
  • Previous experience working with lifestyle, health & wellness, retail, restaurants and/or food and beverage clients preferred (but not required)
  • S/B.A in public relations, marketing, business communications or related field preferred
