Jean Fontana


Jean joined ICR 2006 focusing on retail, apparel, footwear and accessories companies. She has advised numerous companies through the IPO process by conducting financial analysis, developing strategic messaging to Wall Street, refining roadshow presentations, and setting up public company policy and procedures. She also has extensive experience in consulting with companies on their communications strategies during distressed and turnaround periods.

During her career, Jean has worked in the fashion industry, analyzed fashion, supermarket and drugstore companies as a sell-side analyst, and consulted to companies on their investor relations practices. At ICR, she has worked with Michael Kors, Tumi and francesca’s both prior to and after their respective IPO’s. She has advised Christopher & Banks and bebe during turnaround periods and worked with companies in activism and other crisis situations with ICR’s special situations team.

After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology or FIT, Jean assisted in opening a showroom in New York City representing small contemporary brands. Her Wall Street career began at Morgan Stanley. She was a member of Institutional Investor-ranked research teams in hotels and retail food and drug. She later became a senior analyst at Lazard covering apparel and footwear stocks. Jean earned her MBA in Finance from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business.
