Simon Willcocks

Senior Vice President

Simon is Senior Vice President of ICR’s Energy Investor Relations practice, responsible for management of the firm’s E&P, clean energy, and upstream services clients. A qualified UK Barrister, he also provides public speaking and investor engagement coaching. He holds twelve years of oil and gas industry experience across IR, land, corporate strategy, business development, and commercial negotiation.

He joined ICR in early 2017 from Sard, Verbinnen & Co. where he led development of the firm’s energy sector business and acted as strategic client IR counsel on M&A communications, quarterly earnings best practices, crisis management, and shareholder activism. Simon spent the majority of his career at Hess Corporation both in New York as corporate strategy and IR advisor to the CEO and leadership team, and in London as Landman and commercial manager to the exploration businesses in Europe, West Africa, and the Middle East, where he led Hess’s commercial operation & government relations program in Iraqi Kurdistan. His career was founded in upstream business development at London-based asset brokerages Harrison Lovegrove & Co. and Stellar Energy Advisors Ltd., where he initiated and managed more than 20 energy asset A&D transactions across Europe and North Africa.

Simon was educated in England and Called to the Bar by London’s Middle Temple in 2006. He holds an honors degree in natural sciences from the University of Leeds, UK, and has been a resident of New York since 2013 where he lives with his wife and daughter in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
