Maturo’s 34 year Equity Capital Markets career includes advising on more than 500 equity offerings at leading Wall Street firms such as Salomon Brothers, BofA Merrill Lynch, and UBS
New York, NY – June 12, 2018 – ICR Capital, a transaction advisory firm and an affiliate of ICR, a leading strategic communications agency, today announced that Frank Maturo has joined as Chairman. The intent is to continue to strengthen the team and build on the recent IPO Advisory successes experienced in 2017.
After graduating from Yale in 1980, where Frank played basketball, he went on to Wharton and completed his M.B.A. in 1984. He subsequently joined Salomon Brothers Equity Capital Markets Group, and after 15 years, moved to Merrill Lynch (BofA Merrill Lynch) to oversee TMT, and later Industrial’s origination. Frank spent 16 years there, eventually serving as Co-Head of the Americas ECM. Maturo then moved to UBS Group AG as Vice-Chairman of Equity Capital Markets in the Americas, where he also served as a member of the firm’s Equity Business Review Committee.
Tom Ryan, CEO of ICR stated, “We are honored that Frank sees the potential of ICR Capital and our unique approach to IPO Advisory. This includes significant upfront positioning work and critical aftermarket communications support, all in addition to the nuts and bolts of optimal deal execution. With 34 years of experience managing important lead-left mandates, Frank’s presence will no doubt strengthen our offering and take us to the next level.”
Over his career, Frank has been involved in more than 500 equity and equity-linked offerings, and roughly 200 initial public offerings. These span all industry sectors in many market environments, growth and value, small-cap to large-cap. Most of Frank’s transactions have been backed by the biggest and most successful financial sponsors in the world.
Frank Maturo stated, “I’m pleased to join and help build out the team at ICR Capital. We have a unique approach that embraces the notion that the positioning and communication of a transaction is just as important as how that transaction is structured. It’s a competitive advantage that drives a better result, as proven by the superior outperformance of the firm’s deals. I look forward to working with the team, sharing my experience, and helping company owners maximize the value of their investments.”
ICR is already a leader in IPO communications services, working on more than 300 over the last 10 years. The company has established strong market leadership with respect to preparing companies for their transition to public life in industries including technology, consumer, healthcare, financial services, business services, energy, real estate, and industrials among others. Twenty years in the making, this has created a strong foundation for Frank to partner with David Galper, CEO of ICR Capital, and the rest of the team to expand this business.
In addition to Frank Maturo, ICR Capital’s senior team includes David Galper, who has originated and executed more than 75 equity offerings and other transactions across a wide range of industries. David was formerly an investment banker at Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown, Jefferies and KeyBanc Capital Markets as well as a member of the Equity Capital Markets Execution Group at Lehman Brothers. Adding to senior level depth is Tim Dolan, Vice Chairman, a seasoned capital markets professional with firms such as Alex. Brown & Sons and Deutsche Bank prior to his 14 years with ICR. Tim has served as a senior advisor on over 100 technology, media and telecom IPOs. Other sector experts include Scott Van Winkle in food, beverage and healthy living and Evelyn Infurna in REITs and financial services. ICR Capital is the only transaction advisor where industry-focused transaction teams integrate with sector experts in investor relations, public relations, crises management, digital branding, video production and social media.
David Galper concluded, “While ICR has always been the leading advisor to private companies entering the IPO process, we formally productized our offering with the launch of ICR Capital in late 2015. We have seen significant progress thus far by leveraging our integrated offering, which we believe creates substantial value for our clients. The addition of Frank as Chairman will only add to that value proposition.”
