London, 12 October 2021, Consilium Strategic Communications (Consilium), a global leader in strategic healthcare communications and investor relations, is pleased to co-sponsor the 6th annual Future of Healthcare Investment Forum, taking place virtually today 12 October from 2pm. The event is taking place in partnership with the London Stock Exchange, the BioIndustry Association, JP Morgan, Numis and MedCity.
The forum will include leading public and private UK healthcare companies, members of the investor community and expert advisers in the sector with keynote speakers the Rt. Hon. Kwasi Kwarteng MP, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and Dame Kate Bingham, Managing Partner of SV Health Investors and formerly Chair of the UK Government’s Vaccine Taskforce. The three panel sessions will cover the following topics: Innovation and next generation of technologies in healthcare, the direct responders to COVID-19 and what has been learned and opportunities in the post-pandemic world.
Steve Bates, CEO of the UK Bioindustry Association (BIA) will also provide an update on the funding environment for UK healthcare. The BIA published data yesterday showing that strong investment in UK biotech and life sciences has continued into the second half of the year, with a total of £576m raised across public and private markets between June and August and a record £3 billion in the first three quarters of 2021.
