Steve has over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate investment and management, including more than 20 years following public Real Estate Investment Trusts. With ICR since 2012, he brings a combination of fundamental real estate knowledge and extensive capital markets experience to assist companies and senior executives in all aspects of strategic communications.
As a senior sell-side analyst following REITs, Steve had responsibility for virtually every major property type sector. He was recognized in various analyst rankings, including Forbes and the Wall Street Journal. In addition, he co-led or led sector coverage during his tenure, and was responsible for top-down industry analysis, data-driven research, sector strategy, and all aspects of client communication and marketing.
Prior to joining ICR, Steve led Morgan Keegan’s REIT/Real Estate Research team, after stints as a co-head of REIT research at Keefe, Bruyette, and Woods, and Wachovia Securities (Wells Fargo). Earlier he served as head of real estate research at Phoenix HomeLife, an institutional real estate advisor, where he utilized market data and analysis to direct investment decisions. Steve began his real estate career in 1986, working for a private real estate investment firm. He has a BA in economics from Trinity College and an MBA from the University of Connecticut.
