For the past several months, company leaders and boards have focused on managing issues related to COVID-19. And while the pandemic isn’t over yet, it is now critical to begin thinking about what may occur in the aftermath of the coronavirus crisis, including potential proxy fights, hostile or unsolicited takeover efforts, and activist demands. In fact, companies should expect to see an increase in activism and M&A activity in the coming months, and activists may focus on how companies performed during the crisis.
